Czech and Slovak Republics Ambassadors Visit KCMO

Kansas City, Missouri was very honored to host the official visit of H.E. Petr Gandalovič, Ambassador of the Czech Republic, and H.E. Peter Kmec, Ambassador of the Slovak Republic, in the United States from September 9th – 11th, 2015.  This visit was made possible through the leadership and collaborations of Sharon Valasek, Honorary Consul to the Czech Republic in the Midwest, and Ross Marine, Honorary Consul to the Slovak Republic in the Midwest.

International Business Development Coordinator, Narbeli Galindo, arranged for the Ambassadors to attend a meeting with Mayor Sly James at City Hall, for a proclamation ceremony in recognition of the many contributions in business, culture, education, civic endeavors and activities the Czech and Slovak communities have brought to the Kansas City area.

Benny Lee, CEO and President of Duracomm, a Kansas City, Missouri based company, hosted the Ambassadors for a luncheon meeting where presenters from a variety of local organizations in Kansas City, Missouri highlighted our City’s achievements, and the advantages and benefits of doing business in KCMO.

Both Ambassadors and guests from the Czech and Slovak Republics were hosted at a dinner reception and concert performance, co-hosted by the National Czech & Slovak Museum & Library, featuring Filip Pogády (Violinist) and Matthew Graybil (Pianist).
