Environmental Education and Workforce Development for Urban Youth

[spacer height=”5px”]Green Works in Kansas City excels at environmental education and workforce development for urban high school students and in creating partnerships with local businesses, and organizations that open doors for our students and positively impact their futures. We educate students about the environment and involve them in meaningful service projects. We provide job skill training and financial literacy training to prepare our students for summer internships, and life after high school.

We began in the fall of 2007 and have worked with 160 students and funded nearly 10,000 hours of internships for our students. While many of our graduates are currently attending college, we do have three students employed at their former internship sites. [read_more_button link=”http://www.greenworkskc.org”]Learn more[/read_more_button]

We’re giving them good habits and attitudes, particularly a positive sense of themselves and teach them how to learn, making a difference throughout their lives.
