EDCKC serves as the economic development agency for the City of Kansas City, Missouri. The most centrally located major city in the U.S., Kansas City, Missouri, is ranked among the Top 25 Future-Ready U.S. Cities by economists on factors including human capital, infrastructure and commerce, as reported February 2016 in Convene magazine, and has been the recent recipient of other kudos including top 20 large cities to start a business, #2 best city for jobs, top five city for good pay and housing and #4 most cultured city in the country.
Kansas City Small Business Capital Program
The program is designed to encourage economic growth, innovation, and entrepreneurship in the city by providing a variety of financial assistance options for starting capital. Through this initiative, small businesses in Kansas City can access low-interest loans, grants, and other forms of financial assistance to help them grow and expand. The program also provides training and technical assistance to help entrepreneurs develop the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in today's competitive business environment.
Downtown Council of Kansas City
Our partner in creating a vibrant, economically sustainable Downtown Kansas City, Missouri. A private, nonprofit organization, the Downtown Council (DTC) advances initiatives that promote economic development and quality of life Downtown. The organization is co-founder with EDCKC of LaunchKC, a program that annually provides 10 $50,000 grants, mentorship and transitional workspace to tech entrepreneurs worldwide that locate in Kansas City, Missouri.
