We’re home to the renowned Kauffman Foundation – the top global foundation advancing entrepreneurship; the first city in the U.S. to receive Google Fiber; we’re the founding city for 1 Million Cups.

At EDC we created LaunchKC in partnership with the Downtown Council and are awarding hundreds of thousands of dollars annually to attract and grow promising early-stage companies in Kansas City. This effort has generated thousands of jobs and hundreds of millions of dollars of investment. Additionally, our Government Affairs team has helped secure major policy wins to advance entrepreneurship in Missouri, and we've partnered with KC BizCare to provide microgrants and other opportunities for small scale capital access to entrepreneurs in our community.
