Blue River Ecodustrial Corridor Multimodal Improvement Study

In Blue River Valley Industrial Corridor (BRVIC), Redevelopment by EDCKC Staff

As Kansas City, Missouri looks for opportunities to grow, both in terms of revenue and quality job creation, the Blue River Ecodustrial Corridor (also known as the Blue River Valley) is a rare opportunity to create an industrial zone that is within the central city.

Because this area has existing access to multiple modes of transportation infrastructure, both people and products can move efficiently…almost.

The critical missing piece is that the area’s main roadway, Manchester Trafficway, lacks connectivity to other key routes in and out of the area. To unlock the true economic potential of the area, a review of potential connectivity is underway. In addition to analyzing the roadway alignments, the existing disjointed trail system is being reviewed for potential improvements.

What can you do?

  1. As someone who cares about KCMO, please fill out this survey about the roadway and trail alignments in the study area: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/mantrafficway
  2. Join us for a public open house meeting, hosted by the Kansas City Industrial Council (KCIC) on Thursday, October 7th, anytime between 5:00-7:00pm at Harvester’s, 3801 Topping Ave. Masks required.
