Community Leaders Tour Fifth Council District Opportunities

In Business Development, TIF by EDCKC Staff

Last month, EDCKC was happy to co-lead a tour of the 5th District with Councilwoman Ryana Parks-Shaw to shine a light on several of the dynamic economic opportunities in the area. Stops highlighted projects underway such as The Rochester multi-family building being developed by Community Builders KC, the Brush Creek Corridor Area Plan, Winchester Center TIF neighborhood improvements, The Glade, and several more.

Fifth District City Councilman-at-Large Lee Barnes Jr, Director of City Planning Jeffrey Williams, and City Manager Brian Platt were also present, along with representatives from the Marlborough Community Coalition and many other stakeholders who shared updates on their efforts to improve the community from the ground up.

The 5th District has some great examples of how EDCKC is able to work with community and civic leaders to create strong and equitable economic opportunities for all.
