At EDCKC, our team administers and implements the City’s economic development strategy, and focuses on business and real estate development, job creation, entrepreneurship, and community investment.
We accomplish our mission across three primary divisions:
Our Business Development team manages active jobs projects and carries out the business retention and expansion (BR&E) program to ensure success for existing KCMO businesses.
Our Land Development teams ensure that we effectively implement Kansas City, Missouri’s incentives process. This requires policy work, scrutinizing potential deals, and great communication between developers and impacted stakeholders.
Our Entrepreneurship team works to ensure we are using our tools and resources to propel the growth of promising entrepreneurs in Kansas City. Through LaunchKC, EDC Loan Corp, our advocacy efforts, and more, we are helping build the next generation of job creators and economic engines for Kansas City.
We work to help every type of business in KCMO grow to its potential, while also looking for new opportunities that would benefit our residents. Our ultimate goal is prosperity that is inclusive, across racial, socioeconomic and geographic lines. It’s not just about jobs, but good jobs. It’s not just about development, but conscious development, it’s not just about entrepreneurship, it’s about new building businesses that can scale and create good jobs.
