ICYMI, the U.S. Economic Development Administration named the KC region a “Tech Hub” in October as part of a historic investment to strengthen the U.S. economy and national security.
The regional proposal, called KC BioHub, led by BioNexus KC and 60+ partner organizations including EDCKC, will ramp up life-saving vaccine production and other preventative technologies to leverage regional assets and the existing ecosystem to become a global leader in biomanufacturing and life sciences.
KC BioHub is now applying for phase two funding of up to $75 million, which would go toward the creation of 100 new biotech firms and 10,000 local jobs, as well as bolster the local biologics and biomanufacturing industry.
