Pinsight Media+ is a mobile data company powered by Sprint. Founded in 2012, Pinsight employs around 120 people and shows no signs of slowing down. In early 2016, Pinsight was running out of space at their 909 Walnut location and began considering a variety of options for new office space, including the Sprint headquarters campus in Overland Park, Kansas.
Pinsight’s Vice President, Kevin McGinnis said they ultimately chose to remain in downtown Kansas City to be part of the thriving innovation scene. The new location is a 20,000-square-foot space on the 15th floor of the City Center Square building at 1100 Main Street in Kansas City, Missouri.
The completely renovated space offers a 360-degree view of downtown, an open layout with collaborative spaces, and plenty of emerging technology. McGinnis said staying downtown is a perk for many employees since a number of them live in downtown and don’t have vehicles. They use the KC streetcar to get to work and meetings.
In November 2016, Pinsight announced a collaboration with Digital Sandbox KC in order to better support Kansas City’s early-stage digital entrepreneurs. As part of the relationship, Pinsight extends proof-of-concept project funding and provides app development resources for consumer-facing product companies selected by the Sandbox.
This new relationship aligns with Pinsight’s app development program called Rollout that offers mobile development and app monetization solutions for founders of high-growth, consumer-facing products.
“With Pinsight’s involvement and generous support, entrepreneurs now have access to industry experts with extensive knowledge in app development and app marketing,” said Jeff Shackelford, executive director, Digital Sandbox. “As a result, we hope that even more consumer-focused founders will apply to tap into the entrepreneurial resources available in our own backyard.”
Shackelford adds this is a unique model for Digital Sandbox. “This relationship brings a depth of knowledge and expertise to our program. From building mobile apps to marketing them, we can now offer participating companies the total package.”
