St. Michael’s Veteran Center (SMVC) has been an important piece of Kansas City’s solution to end veteran homelessness by offering permanent supportive housing for veterans experiencing homelessness or living with a disability.
In 2014, the first phase of SMVC was completed with Land Clearance for Redevelopment Authority (LCRA) assistance, including 58 apartment units. Two years later, an additional 59 apartment units and a supportive services center were completed. The third and final phase – just approved by LCRA – will be for an additional 62 apartment units, providing a dignified place where veterans can live and become their best selves.
We extend our sincere thanks to all partners involved.
