In KC News, New Development by EDCKC Staff

A successful $6.2 million capital campaign, New Markets Tax Credits and the blood, sweat and tears of a lot of determined individuals has launched the construction for the renovation and expansion project for DeLaSalle Education Center. The building project is in full-stride, under construction by JE Dunn. The project includes the addition of 18,000 sq. ft. of programming space, substantial upgrades to the existing facility, the Kobets Wing, and a new Norman O. Sanders Wing, providing a new Troost Street address.

The new building will allow DeLaSalle to expand and upgrade already successful holistic support programs and an experiential learning environment. A newly expanded library is included as well as the Parent and Child Education Support program (PACES) will have more space to build on its parenting education and child care services. The project also calls for a new courtyard, a new walking trail emphasizing our Healthy Lifestyles program and provides community green space for the Squier Park neighborhood, and a multi-purpose room is provided for community meetings and events.
