The Linwood Family YMCA at 3221 Indiana Avenue in Kansas City, Missouri is undergoing a massive $19 million reconstruction project. Once the facility is complete in 2017, community members will be able to take advantage of many new features, including a covered pool, updated gym, and access to health and wellness classes.
Stephenie Smith, the Executive Director of the Linwood Family YMCA, says the old facility was out-of-date and not meeting the community’s needs. While under construction, the YMCA has temporarily moved across the street and is currently operating out of Central Academy of Excellence so they can continue serving the community.
