Bob Langenkamp, president and CEO of The Economic Development Corporation of Kansas City, Missouri, announced the hiring of three development professionals. Kevin Battle and Jim Erickson joined as business development officers, and Dan Moye as a development services specialist. The addition of these three follow the hiring of Greg Flisram as senior vice president of business and land development in December.
“Each of these professionals come to the EDC with incredibly valuable development experience,” said Bob Langenkamp, president and CEO of the EDC. “We are fortunate to have them on our team.”
Battle brings 15 years of business and real estate development experience, most recently as vice president and project manager, Midwest Operations, with The Cordish Co. Previously he served as general manager of the Power & Light District in Kansas City, Missouri, as well as in management, marketing or sales positions with the Kansas City T-Bones Baseball Club and the Kansas City Royals Baseball Club.
Erickson brings experience in international economic development, most recently having served as analyst and project manager with the Egyptian National Competitiveness Council where he advocated for and advised on competitive economic and business policies to improve the economic environment in Egypt. As business development officers, Battle and Erickson promote economic development and drive business growth in all sectors of the Kansas City, Missouri, economy, and ensure existing incentives help attract, retain and grow companies and jobs.
Moye most recently served as development coordinator with the Sunflower Development Group acting as liaison between Sunflower and local and state governments. He was instrumental in developing Jackson County’s real estate analysis group in his previous position as development incentive coordinator where he conducted financial analysis for business incentives and oversaw the tax incentive unit. In his new role as development services specialist, Moye coordinates with developers and businesses seeking tax incentives, leading them through the incentive process.
