“Economic Development in Kansas City Missouri matters to me because we need a vibrant growing economy,” says EDC Board member Spencer Fields, Client Manager and the office leader of Mercer’s Kansas City and St. Louis offices. Mercer is a global consulting leader in talent, health, retirement, and investments.
“People would call my company if they need help with flexible benefit plans and other health and welfare benefit plans, qualified and nonqualified retirement plans, employee and executive compensation programs,’ says Fields. Fields has wide-ranging experience in the development of human resource strategies and the design, financing and administration of employee benefit and compensation programs.
Prior to joining Mercer in 1995, Spencer was a senior manager with Ernst & Young, LLP, where he helped to build and then manage the firm’s employee benefit consulting practice in the Kansas City area.
Something most people don’t know about him is that he graduated from Purdue University and loves his Boilers, no matter how many times they disappoint him! Boiler up!
One thing he says he loves about Kansas City is the great friendly people. “This community supports one another like no other community,” says Fields. “We take Midwest nice to a whole new level and that translates into business as well. It’s important for us to continue that strong tradition.”
