We are pleased to welcome three new business development officers (BDOs) to the EDC team: Kimberlyn Jones, Jim Malle and Brandon Smith. All three bring with them valuable economic development experience on the city, county and state level. Defined by geography and target industry sector, business development officers focus on both business attraction and local retention and expansion.
Jones has worked with the EDC’s Loan Corporation as a business development/credit officer where she assisted businesses with accessing financial resources needed for development efforts. Jones has extensive business experience prior to her time at the EDC including in the insurance and finance industries. Jones will be working with businesses in the arts and nonprofit sector.
Malle most recently worked as a development incentive administrator with Jackson County, Missouri, where he negotiated and managed various tax incentives and was instrumental in enhancing economic development within the county. Prior to that, Malle served in various business and marketing related positions. Malle will be working in the health sciences sector.
Smith comes to us from Jefferson City where he worked in the State of Missouri’s Department of Economic Development. He held various roles in that position including business development specialist and project manager. He will be the EDC’s representative for the industrial — advanced manufacturing/supply chain sector.
